Hyperbaric Chamber

Discover how hyperbaric oxygen therapy can help you recover faster and improve your quality of life.

What is the procedure like?

1

Entering the chamber

When you arrive at the clinic, you will be welcomed by our team of professionals, who will guide you inside the Perry Sigma 34 hyperbaric chamber. This chamber is spacious and comfortable, designed to ensure a relaxed experience throughout the treatment.

2

Preparation and comfort

Before starting, you will be asked to relax inside the chamber. You can sit or lie down, depending on your preferences and the type of treatment. During the session, you will be given pure oxygen through a mask or a hood system, as required.

3

Pressure adjustment

Once the chamber is sealed, the internal pressure will gradually begin to increase. This process is similar to descending in an aeroplane, so some patients may feel slight pressure in their ears, which is completely normal and easy to equalise.

4

Treatment time

Each session generally lasts between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the condition being treated. During this time you will breathe pure oxygen at a pressure higher than atmospheric, which allows more oxygen to reach your body's tissues, helping cell repair and improving circulation.

5

Completion and exit

At the end of the session, the pressure will be reduced gradually until the chamber returns to normal pressure. At this point you will be able to leave the chamber without any trouble and resume your usual activities. In some cases, additional sessions may be recommended depending on the condition being treated.

Frequently asked questions

Is it painful?

No, hyperbaric chamber sessions are not painful. Some people may experience a mild sensation of pressure in the ears, similar to the feeling of being at high altitude or taking off in an aeroplane. This is temporary and can be easily relieved with small swallowing movements.

Who can use the hyperbaric chamber?

Hyperbaric therapy is safe for most people and is used to treat a wide range of conditions. However, we always carry out a prior assessment to make sure the treatment is suitable for you.
